And greatly looking forward to it. Not sure whether to bring the deadlift back into my routine to help with core strength. The only issue I have with this is that I prefer to train my back alone and not incorporate other body part training due to the intensity of dead lifting. Especially as I am trying to up the repetitions for each working set at the moment.
I shall see how I feel this evening and take it from there.

Last nights training....
Back at the gym last night after two weeks away and to my suprise they have replaced the entire kit in the weights room. Gone are the bashed up Hammer Strength benches and in have come shiney new Life Fitness variants. Now, as far as I know, Life Fitness and Hammer Strength are one one in the same so fingers crossed the kit will be just as good and long lasting.
So anyway, back to the session. Nice and easy as its first day back from hols.
Chest and Biceps...
Rowing Machine 5 mins
Life Fitness Chest Press Machine 3 x 10
Incline Bench Press 3 x 8
Incline Dumbell Flyes 3 x 10
Standing Cable Curl 4 x 10
Dumbell Preacher Curl 3 x 8
Rowing Machine 5 mins
Treadmill 10 mins of steady uphill walking
Job done.

Making chicken interesting
Today my lunch consists of 200g chicken breast and 15 almonds.
Now this sounds rather dull doesnt it? And yes it would be if I didnt spice it up a bit.
I use Schwartz spices to make things a little more interesting. For todays chicken, I have used Cajun spice to enhance the meat.

Very simply....
Take two medium sized chicken breasts.
Lightly coat with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Shake a thin coating of Cajun Spice onto the chicken
Place in small roasting pan and cover with cooking foil
Cook at 200C (fan oven) for 25 minutes then remove foil and cook for another 10 minutes.
Allow to cool before slicing and placing in fridge.
Very simple way to cook chicken breasts for a packup.

Day 2 of No Smoking....
Morning all.
Excellent nights sleep, got a good 8 hours and probably could have done with a bit more to be honest. Second nicotine patch has gone on today and as before they are working a treat, not a single craving.
Now that the summer holidays are over, my alcohol drinking has been slowed down also. I have stopped drinking during the week and will limit it to a Friday and Saturday night, which suits me fine.
This, along with the changes in my diet should help me bet back into serious training.
So far so good...

First day of no smoking
Using patches yet again but all is well so far. Looking forward to a good nights sleep.
Cutting diet.......
Well a fairly good start today in preperation for my cut. The idea is to basically work myself into the diet over a period of two to three weeks whilst increasing cardio during gym sessions.
Probably looking to lose a stone of fat but we shall see how it goes.
Todays diet looked like this,
Meal 1 - 40g Whey Protein + 15ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Meal 2 - 40g Whey Protein + 3 tsp Whole Earth Peanut Butter
Meal 3 - 200g Chicken Breast + 15 Almonds
Meal 4 - 40g Whey Protein + 3 tsp Whole Earth Peanut Butter
Meal 6 - Lasagne, Chips and Salad...lol. Well I did say I was going to ease myself into it!!
Meal 7 - Some ham and cheese maybe, not sure, havent got there yet.
So there it is, the start of a low carb diet. Carbs don't suit me at the best of times as I tend to bloat easily. The diet will tighten up in time so I'm not too worried about the chips at this stage.
